His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Appreciation Award for community service in the presence of His Excellency General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police presided over the ninth meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Award in the meeting room of the Dubai Police Officers Club on last Sunday morning.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Ahmed bin Humaidan, Director General of Dubai Smart Government, H.E. Maj. Gen. Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Community Service Department, Secretary General of the Award and members of the Committee; H.E. Maj. Gen. Ahmed Hamdan Bin Dalmook, Director General of Dubai Police Training Department; H.E. Fatima Ghanim Al Marri; Dr. Mansour Bin Al Sheikh Al Mansouri, Mr. Ahmed Al Muhairi, Mr. Salem Bin Lahej, and Colonel Khalid Shahil, Deputy Director General of Community Service.
The board reviewed a number of topics on the agenda, the most important of which were honor mechanisms, the selection of candidates for the Award, and the deadline for the honorary ceremony; the broad reviewed the requests for candidature which met the requirements of the committees for decision and approval, the broad also discussed a number of other topics.
The broad discussed the media plan for the Award, the possibility of benefiting from the various media to promote the Award, as well as the use of social media on the Internet in publishing news and events of the Award, expanding the circle of identification and attracting as many candidates as possible to be honored.
The Award, which was established by Decree No. 16 of 2013, aims to honor those who demonstrate commitment to social responsibility, whether individuals, private companies or institutions that provide a valuable service to the community through initiatives and actions in the areas of social welfare, health, education and other fields that is a complementary to the Dubai Awards and an extension of the concept of the fulfillment of the first giving man, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah bless him.
